Problem:
The new international competition has brought us a lot of hope but also a lot of discussion: Should it be a league or a cup?
If it's a cup, you will have different opponents every season and there will be no correlation between one season results and the next season, since the schedule will depend on the national league results.
But it it's a league, it will have its own development, disconnected from the league results. So, the national league would lose importance in favor of the international league.
And if it's both, it will fill the week schedule with matches, which most of the community is against. Unless it could be addressed somehow
Solution: Superleague
A Superleague (SL) is an international league that would be a level above the national leagues. The winners of top national leagues could promote to this league for next season, and eventually be relegated from there back to their top national leagues.
This way we would know who is the best of the best in every Sokker season, while keeping clean the week schedule for the international cup, which would still allow to participate every team in Sokker. Also, teams in small countries will have the chance to play against the best teams in the Sokker world if they feel their country is too little for them
The structure of groups would be:
- SL I (1)
- SL II (4)
- SL III (16)
This is 21 * 8 = 168 teams, enough for at least one team per country
Promotions and relegations would work like usual, but the 4 worst teams of every SL III group would be interchanged by the winners of the top National Leagues of every country
From the 98 winners of National Leagues, 30 of them would promote directly, the 68 remaining teams would play a play-off (the 34 best against the 34 worst). This sum 30 + 34 = 64 promotions
After the play-offs, we will need an adjustment of the teams in top national leagues:
Top national leagues with 7 teams will keep the best team relegated. The same happens with II, III and so on
Top national leagues with more than 8 teams will move the worst qualified teams to II, replacing the worst teams there, which will move on to III, and so on

Are teams promoting to superleague and leaving their national cup? If so this would be very bad for small nations, as you would be losing one of the few people who actually play the game from the small nation.
33 countries (1/3 of sokker) have less than 10 users in their nation. That's not active teams, that is teams with someone at the helm, who may not log in, may not talk, may not do anything.
My experience is about 25% of people from a nation are actually active in the forums. So 33 nations with 3 or less active people in their league, remove 1 of those 3, and you have only 1 or 2 people doing much. This would really hurt these small nations.
It would even hurt my nation who has 20-odd users (it would actually help me personally as I'd get a chance to win a league lol). But taking someone away from the banter, someone active, it wouldn't work.
Theoretically in an International league system, Div 1, 2 and 3, would effectively be a super league. It wouldn't have only 1 or 2 from each country, but it would have the best of the best in it. And personally, knowing I will never be the best of the best (and over 10,000 players never will be), the country league would still be the #1 league in my eyes, and the only one I would maybe be able to win. But I would enjoy the even competition of the International League

I am not sure if I understand. I mean:
The new international competition has brought us a lot of hope but also a lot of discussion: Should it be a league or a cup?
...
Solution: Superleague
So it solves the League or Cup problem just by being a league?

I think the small countries should be grouped as already suggested in other threads, its problem will remain with or without Superleague
And the international cup and national cup would stay as suggested by the devs

ah, ok, I think I understand - this international league matches would replace national legaue ones in cases of the best teams in these leagues
in that case this looks very good, interesting for sure
that should stop complaints in Poland about weaker countries having no real opponents in their league which lets them earn money and train youngsters and still win the league and play using their most powerful 11 only in CC (hence less injuries to these powerful players etc)

Like the idea just I think at some point in several season it my become extension of polish championship but that's fine I still want it
In every medium country there is a superb team we want not have in top division :)

I have also some doubts that the international league will be more powerful than top Polish, Romanian or Italian leagues (and purposely it should by). There were rounds in Ekstraklasa where teams played with overall avg marks > 77 (I mean round avg mark was more than 77), that's pretty high and it should be bad if higher league would be like relieve instead of greater challenge for some teams like Polish champion.
Maybe not the first seasons, but after that, the best teams of Sokker would play in the SL, becoming the best possible league
I still can see how this will hurt a lot of smaller countries as by losing just 1 person to the superleague, they will lose 10-50% of their users, and an even higher number of active users (as often the number 1 is one of the few active ones).
It will really hurt small nations, because every single user is important

we do not loose that user he will play in national cup will produce nt players still he is still part of community but he will have new challenge and he will be out of his comfort zone with no real competition
also this could be optional and if he do not want he can give path to second team in line

We lose the user from the league. And as this idea only has cups outside of the league, if you are one of the only other active users in the community, you just lost a big amount of enjoyment for two weeks of the season. You may just have gone from having 4 cmpetitive matches in the season to 2.
This is the way in the small nations unfortunately.
The idea is good, if half the nations didn't have so few users. It could be a good idea for the future if sokker grows, but right now, it hurts a lot of small countries
