Thema: »[info]DevDiary 80: “Price is what you pay, value is what

I would consider paying for plus if the issues that have been stated with low user bases and transfer market accessibility were addressed (it’s been 19 years and still nothing has happened in that space, in fact it’s actually worse at the moment given the current league structures). I would also consider paying for plus if the devs were actually active, clearly cared about the community and were responsive to what their users want. At the moment we hear very little and trying to point out a weakness or a problem is mostly just ignored and they go ahead with a change THEY wanted to make anyway. There is no negotiation even if they pretend there is once they’ve decided to do something. Most of the changes made are in their own perspective.

That’s fine they can do so but I can also choose not to support that.

If NTs were something most didn’t care about then why is player skills being locked to behind a payment (when you’re still not guaranteed to get skills if someone disables the ability to see skills)? Why would anyone pay for that scenario? I mean you could flip that and say you can’t hide your player skills unless you had plus.
2024-03-06 07:52:16
I never thought of it that way, that would be a MUCH better idea.

The ability to hide players skills from NT managers is a plus feature.

That way you don't burn the players who are giving back in other ways (ie the NT managers who dont have plus but keep the community active), yet there is an obvious bonus (if they want to use it) to those who give back financially to the game. This feature would also likely results in more new plus memberships than you would get new plus memberships through the few non plus NT managers

Well they spent time & resources to satisfy NT coaches who asked for the players skills. Since NT coaches got something extra that they asked for (and it was a change made for a very small group of users) then it’s only fair these users show their gratitude.

Obviously they can remain non-plus and gather the skills in old-fashioned way.
2024-03-06 10:52:08
Btw. as you’ve mentioned, there’s not much going on at the forums about NTs, even sometimes the NT coaches don’t give a damn and write nothing for a whole season. And forum users are a small percentage of users, while the rest are probably even less interested in NTs.

I know there are some users that care only about NT & train players for the NT because they are bored with everything already, but I really wouldn’t exaggerate the importance of NTs in the game & the forums.
2024-03-06 11:17:38
I don’t think I was exaggerating. What I said holds true for at least Australia’s case and it wouldn’t surprise me given the other comments that have been made about nt skills being visible that others see the importance too. I also only ever specifically mentioned Australia in all my posts anyway because I do know that quite well. The fact we had users outside of australia have a forum thread for international talk to try and give a home for smaller user bases and people without an active forum shows there are others. On top of this we have foreign managers that are dedicated to help train our players up as well and not always for money/profit. There is an untapped interest there.

I was mostly saying that if the NT isn’t considered popular why add it behind pay walls when the only reason you’d do that is because you need to bump the price of plus up and feel in order to have people pay that you need another item into the “premium” package to lighten the hit.

Issue is if there is limited interest in nt it’s not going to attract new plus users and in most cases won’t likely shift those that do pay already from paying.

In terms of time and resources they changed a feature that should have always been a base thing and I strongly doubt that was very hard to do as they would have already had the base for the code from club teams.

So that’s one plus but that in itself isn’t enough to justify plus given the rest of the problems that exist. There are better developed games in a similar style as sokker that deal with their users a lot better.

Ultimately whatever I say likely won’t make a scrap of difference because they’re not really the listening type but I’m strongly opposed to nt skills being a plus feature and will always try to change that decision even if it won’t make a difference. I will also be vocal with making others aware of how inequitable the current system/structure is for low user nations. I make no apology for that as it os obvious for anyone that understands how the system works and has been since the beginning of the game.
2024-03-06 12:46:01
if there is not enough human resources in development, I dont understand why they do not accept the offer of sokker users that are willing to help

about the taxes reform I think that the best would be to implement special tax on profit instead of punishing users that sold their players in several weeks after purchase. There are many reasons to do so and only one of them is fast trading. But you are punishing everone even those who lose millions euro on the sale.

I miss the junior school reform the most. Make it much less about the luck and more about strategic decisions. If you could also deal with curent junior matches and leagues system, it would be great. One of the ideas was to reform the curent junior teams to u21 teams which would consist both of players still in youth schools and already pulled out of ys

a very small group of users
I only intervene to correct you: NT coaches are a very small group of users only once they've been elected, but potentially all users can be NT coaches.

Way I see it, they added an EXTRA new feature that NT coaches (a small group of users) asked for and now they decided that if they wanted this feature and asked for it - they can buy plus to use it, since it's an extra tool that makes their NT experience easier.

I would agree if plus has a high price, but it doesn't. And if some NT coaches don't feel the need to support the game that they are playing with club and NT and spending many hours here having fun, then why would the owners feel the need to support the needs of these non-plus users?

barely anyone wants to be NT coach anymore, there are many elections with 1-2 users, sometimes it takes a lot of time for a country to even find 1 candidate, often these NT coaches are not very active, just being NT coaches in small countries to be NT coaches.

potentially all users can have 3x superdivine and 250 000 000 euro on their accounts, should we make changes in the game to appease those richest with best players? since potentially all users can be like that.

It's their decision... but potentially all users could be NT coaches.

This is not a decision.

The price isn’t the issue in itself. In my position it’s more around the messaging they give and how little they care about the community. You support people who support the users and they just don’t give enough of a damn about those users. Yes there are a few changes that have been ok and I’ve mentioned all of those already.

In terms of the nt situation, If they said at the start when the feature was first released we are developing this and it will be a plus feature because we want to add more value to the plus package that’s very different to the current strategy. The current strategy was we are releasing this feature and then sometime more recently decided actually the price of plus has to increase (fair given how long it’s been the same and with current inflation) but they clearly feel people won’t buy plus at a higher cost so went scrambling for something to run could thrown to make the change more attractive. That’s very different to being upfront at the start. On top of this they’ve also come out and said that they added it to plus because it’s the same as training which is behind plus and that clearly isn’t true. Again another false assertion instead of just saying the actual reasoning. They’ve also gone on record as saying the nt isn’t an interest to most people but are still putting something behind plus that isn’t likely to change much and impacts 200 people tops. All whilst still the idea is to sell more plus. So which way is it?

They’re either spinning stories to mask their real reason or they’re making things up as they go with no real direction. Either way you don’t support those people.

To be an NT without the possibility of seeing the skills is a hard job. Fewer people indeed want to be NT these days but one of the reasons is that now is extremely more difficult to lead smaller countries due so many injuries...

But is also true that the percentage of people who follow NT and train players for NT is big enough to not consider that part of the game only for NT coaches ...

Why punish a whole community if their coach cant afford plus... Or why force people to elect people with plus instead of their qualities as NT managers ..

To heal players for money is a bad thing i agree its an advantage for rich teams and on top injuries that happened in NT should be healed for free...

This game was always about good tactics and hard training making it more and more dependent on cards and injuries kills the game many users left because of that.

And @Raul one important issue yes about NT again is the unfair WC Qualifiers with an even team number in groups thats super critical to fix...

I had before good fun with plus when arcades had ranking points to fight. As I understand this was removed, Now I play arcades maybe once per week just to first test a new tactic.

I usually dont see 3d games and I use 3rd party tools for player's tracking. Plus gives me a very good first view on thursday only.

I was without plus for a couple of weeks and I bought again because the NT feature, I think it is fair to pay for this feature as this is extra and saves a lot of time. Still I think plus should be more attractive, hope new develompments comes.

The game can be better in order to provide joy, it is ok that some adjustments were needed, for example remove the 5x divine players, but all players and youths were affected, a lot of fun has been removed and some headeches added.
