I have a very good coach, and was wandering:
1) Do popups have something to do with match ratings...for example lets say you have a formidable youth player and you played him as a defender getting 2.7 match rating. Untill then you played him striker and he was getting 3.5 match rating. Will he pop down because he had a lower rating (will the coach see him as an solid now).
2) If the player doesent play a match will that affect his training and popups?
3) Does the position he plays affect the skills he trains or the coach trains him randomly?

1) no, position doesn't matter
2) if he doesn't play some matches the coach will most likely mark him down, but whatever skill is shown is only the coaches guess. None of it affects the training. The only thing that can is the coaches overall skill.
3) no, it's random and based upon the player's talent.

well does the coaches individual skill affect the rate at which the junior improves their individual skills?

for example, an outstanding youth coach with unearthly in pace and about formidable at other skills. will the juniors pace improve faster?

1 more thing. in IV, what level of youth, assistant, and head coaches are recommended?

Nope, for junior coaches just the overall level matters

As a new start, you can afford a 1x unearthly head coach (£3k~ wage), formidable youth coach (£5k~ max wage) and 3x good assistants (£2k~ for all 3). Total wage bill for a new IV team should not exceed £10k.

As you progress, even in IV, think of upping to a 2x or even 3x head coach.

Disclaimer: based all wages on memory, feel free to correct me.

I have recently been been promoted after 3 seasons in IV. The money is a massive improvement! I upgraded my stadium in IV to about 8 thousand by getting abit of money together. I ended up with 3 very good assistants and have an incredible youth coach. I lost money on the weeks I did not have a home game but made enough to compensate when I had a home game obviously ensuring I had friendly matches every week. Now I'm in III I still have the incredible youth coach but now can afford formidable head coach with 3 formidable assistants and still make a prophet each week wether I'm at home or not. In my opinion from my experience either being very unlucky I am yet to get anything decent out of the humility school highest I have had out is outstanding and that turned out to be a terrible player! Anyone any advice on gaining the best from youth team?

the youth school is the equivalent of a lottery. you win or you don't. but when you win, you win good.

Ok ...the thing with youth school is not a total lottery...is simple some people know how to play the lottery to increase their chances. First trow out all the players under average (unless they are 16 and you see good tallent in them). Second dont waste time on youths that are not improving if they start as adequate and after 4 weeks are still like that then you make an ideea of what he will be when you pull him. Just go with players that you see potential...dont be afraid to fire youth players. Third and last...always have 6 free spots for new youth players so to keep that you will need to always get rid of time wasters.

Hope that helps you :)

yes, these are all good tips but the only thing is sometimes, you could get a poor 17 year old who's only got about 5 weeks in youth school. now, my first reaction would be to sack him but i'm always cautious because you never know if the player you just sacked could possibly have a great talent and could have become a future nt star!
