If I had a player and wanted to train his technique what would be the best way of doing it. Ie. what position would you train technique on and is their much difference between defence/midfield/attack in doing so? Thanks.

YES There is a big difference!

"From the Rules-

Training of technique

Similar to defending, it is most intensively trained by the position selected for the current week.
"
For me, I train Tech with Mid orders.

Thanks, but that's not quite what I meant.

I mean, if I had a player and trained tech for defenders, how many weeks different would it be to training tech for midfielders or training tech for forwards in order to get him to pop?

Tec trains the same for all positions, but I recommend def or miss as you get to train 10 players, where as with attacks you would just train 6.

Thanks Dazza. That's how I read the rules but thought it must train slower for def than forwards as there are more of them. But, that isn't the case. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

How long would you expect a 23 yr old to train in pace?

I've just noticed that one of my players has gone 10 weeks and still hasn't popped. Is that normal at this age?

He is going to pop though, right?

Thanks.

this means he lacks talent so that why he is so slow to pop at that age. May I know what hs current pace level is?? The higher the pace level the longer it takes for a pop too...
2013-03-19 20:21:44
Outstanding.
2013-03-23 03:09:50
he will pop in 12 weeks then 12 again and then 13, 13, 14, 15,....
2013-03-23 08:47:33
He popped after 11 weeks :-)

If you were to train forwards. Obviously, you need to train Striker, Pace and Technique (as a min.).

However, how would you go about training the technique?

I mean, striker is clear (6 players each week on forwards) and pace is all players (no matter the position). But, if you train technique on forwards you are missing out on 4 players each week if you did this on midfield instead?

Therefore, would people still train technique on forwards or train technique on midfielders/defenders.

Wouldn't you train it on mids, and play your best forwards as forwards at the weekend, and mids in the midweek match? Or have I misunderstood how training works?

@EP that is exactly what I used to do. Y

ou then can train an extra 4 players - e.g. 4 MID players. However clearly it does mean that you might play some of your forwards twice, which increases risk of injury.....and your cup team ends up with non strikers in ATT positions..........and as such hardly any goals scored.....

Hi guys,

I have a question regarding training.

I have a 23yr old, who is currently 16/15 for Defending and Pace.
It took him 7 wks to pop his pace and he's already had 3 weeks towards the next pop.

However, at what age will he effectively stop training and does he have a chance to reach Divine in both defending and pace?

... and does he have any chance of getting into the England NT squad or is he already far too behind other players for that?

Thanks.
