yes, the problem im finding is running a team on such a low sponsers. im 1st in my league by winning every game a drawing one, but my problem is im putting to much risk in getting promotion. does anyone know what the likely hood of me getting promoted from the bottom league by winning all my games and drawing one? or maybe even drawing 2 if it happens again.

Well, I'm just about staying level with my team, and they weren't cheap.

You will probably play a promotion playoff, if you don't drop any more points, you might have a chance at auto promotion.

Hi, you wont get promoted thi season mate. Im working on the basis that you will need a goal difference of around +70 to go up. Playoff wise you wll be a playing a decent side so it will be a struggle, promotion isnt always the best thing.
Ive been in the division for 5 seasons i think it is and would be happy to stay another couple. In this division you can keep morale high while you build a squad that could survive in division 3. Im pretty sure ive heard the premiership boys state it took them 4-5 years of playing the game to get right up there.

Well it depends on experience really.

In the space of 3 and a bit seasons, I have trained a near Div. III side, using trainees.

All are 20 and under, all are v. trainable, one plays for his U21 @ the age of 20, some will be borderline U21 sometime next season.

I was lucky, due to previous experience I had a grasp of the TL, tactics and training.

Should (touch wood) be a shoo-in for auto promotion.

Dont be disheartened.. When I was in Div IV not so long ago, I ran at a loss every almost every week and made up for it by selling the players I trained every now and then to keep a balanced budget. I also played friendlies with the big boys every midweek (thanks to those who obliged) which sometimes netted me more revenue than my own home league games. I trained pace and a couple of seasons later I was good enough for Div III to be able to hold in it without going back down.
I had an unearthly pace coach who was incredible with 2 very good assistants which was the reason for my high cost along with my junior coach who was formidable with 6 Juniors in my academy.

Frankly speaking you are buying bargains better than me so you are doing well. You just need to hang in there. That striker you bought is good for the price without knowing the talent. When his pace gets up he will give you the goals you need for promotion.

Don't worry, until they added in seat pricing I made a substantial loss ever since I started years ago, patience young jedi.

when i play away i break even with my finanaces. im just getting greedy wanting a new star signing every week. ;)
2010-10-03 20:02:37
I had that issue, I'm still chopping and changing, like, I'm replacing a striker now (again) :P
2010-10-03 20:06:32
i have 4 strikers i want to play :( im only playing 3 this week then training one in the freindly, though if this new signing is untalented he will be getting sold in about 3-4 weeks
2010-10-03 21:29:06
its a good idea not to sell till you find a replacement. I thought you were training pace?
2010-10-04 12:11:28
i am training pace, though i buy any players i can get for a good price, even if it means playing them out of position as im winning all my games in the league now by about 4-6 nil. there's only 1 team that i have to play left that could beat me, so ill put a good team out then to insure a win ;)

my plan is a playoff game this season, though i don't think ill win it... next season i should win all my games 5nil+ so i should go up no problem then.

this season now is all about getting cheap players and getting a squad together for then.

7-0 a match for autopromotion tbh.
2010-10-04 17:11:06
i said at least 5nil a game ;) i have 2 people in my league next season i should win 10-15 nil ;)

If you are training pace you can train 22 players total so I would recommend you always train this max amount of players to make max money.

Would like to know your opinion on whether training technique consecutively is better, or training 3 different attributes (technique, passing, & pace) changing each week is better?
