If I want a midfielder to swap positions with a defender in the middle of the game is it as simple as saying "Always swap Bla Bla on to position 3" ?

Also can I then substitute the player who has swapped to mid for somebody from the bench easily by doing a normal sub.

I.e 3 & 8 swap above....then....

I bring 13 on to position 8....so therefore the original defender comes off? Is that right?

You can definitely do this, leave a minute or 2 between the two orders to ensure there are no problems.

But I can't remember if players take the number with them - so 3 is now in midfield and 8 is in defence, or if the number stays with the position. - This obviously makes a bit of difference to the 2nd part :)

You need confirmation from someone who's tried the 2nd part ...dylanos possibly?

Thank Steelers, I think it should be fine from what I have seen. The order should be straight forward i.1 Player 13 on to Pos 8.

Before that player 3 goes to pos 8?

These are the actual orders....

60' always
Position 9 on position 8
66' always
No.13 on position 9

I still get confused with this order but the way I get around it is to substitute the player first, leave a couple of minutes then swap the player that was not substituted and change the position to the substituted number.

So for example - I want to change positions 8 & 9 with eachother and then put a substitute on for position 9. So player 8 (not position) will become the substituted player!

60' always....replace player 8 with new player

65' always....swap player 9 with position 8.

60' always
Position 9 on position 8
66' always
No.13 on position 9

this will take off the wrong player

If you put 9 on 8
he remains numbered 9

exactly!

it is like real life - they don't swap bloody shirts if they change places!

muppets...

Ok thanks Vancian, I have changed it now to:

60 - Swap Position 8 to Position 9

and then

66 - Player 13 coming onto position 8?

so mid (8) swaps with defender (9)

and then

sub (13) replaces the mid (8) playing in defence

is that what you want?

This is actually what I want to happen.....

I have a winger No. 9 who I want to go to CM No.8.

6 minutes later I want a sub to come on into the wing position. Is this order set right in your opinion? I have never done this before myself....

60 - Swap Position 8 to Position 9

and then

66 - Player 13 coming onto position 8?

looks right
2010-04-30 14:14:15
why 6 minutes later?
2010-04-30 14:18:51
true
the advantage of doing it properly is that the order doesn't matter - or simultaneous orders
2010-04-30 17:24:43
I want to ensure its not confused, and I felt 6 minutes was enough time for the ball to have been knocked out since the change?

Thanks for your help, you were correct. :)
