Thema: Training Question

2010-04-24 17:34:57
Me and Sty have had an argument over what role the Main coach plays in training.

I have an unearthly paced main coach with all other skills at the bottom end.
Sty has a main coach with unearthly pace, but also with unearthly tech, unearthly striker, and other high sideskills.

If we both train pace, we have different views on how quickly the player will train in skills.

Will the player

A)(My view) Train in pace exactly the same way, and Sty's main coach's high sideskills will have no effect on randoms, as that is what assistants do.
B)(Sty's view) Train in pace exactly the same way, but Sty's main coach's high sideskills will cause the player to random more in other skills, while my coach with his hopeless sideskills will have very very little effect on the players randoms.

A)

For random pops the assistants matter as far as I know.

Just as I suspected
Anyone else?

If you need further assuarance here it is from Sokker Rules!

The quality of both individual and general training responsibility lies mostly with the main coach. The feature that counts most is his individual skills; his general appraisal does not influence the effectiveness of training. Select a head coach who has a[b] high ability in training the skill you have chosen for the individual training. Decide yourself how important for you, are the other coach abilities and if you can afford to pay more for a better coach.

The assistants may be helpful to the main coach improving his training effectiveness - the better the assistant (in terms of general appraisal); the more he helps the main coach. However, do not hire too many assistants. If you hire more than 3, they will argue, resulting in training being less effective, or even lost.

Sty is completely correct
the high side skills have a large effect on randoms in the other skills

as the rules say
The quality of both individual and general training responsibility lies mostly with the main coach

the assistants improve both trainings equally

Fair enough.

I agree with Vancian.

The best bet is to buy a coach that's unearthly in alll the key skills for the type of players you train.

E.g. an Unearthly Pace/Tech/Striker coach for Striker trainees, with maybe some decent Defender but PM/Passing don't matter.

yupvancian and sty are right i'm afraid lost... HC skills effect randoms

fine if you train pace and are stuck for cash ...just don't buy trainees looking for randoms in side skills!
2010-04-24 21:10:58
I am, am in need of a promotion.
2010-04-24 21:24:05
that's what all sensible coaches start with

then you buy a coach with more of the skills you train
pace, tech and striker perhaps - to save changing all the time and get randoms in what train

then you start getting the other side skills up so that you send £30000 a week for a couple of extra pops of no particular value

which sets me thinking....
these days I have trainees so old randoms are near impossible
perhaps I should revert to a cheap coach
dicuss

Well - 30k wages to 3k.

Thats 27 a week.
How much of a difference does it make to you?
2010-04-24 21:29:25
it used to be of vital importance that my 10 young midfield trainees popped as much as possible

now I train elderly strikers I wonder.
I might think about a 3xunearthly and save £12000 a week

BUT one day I intend to go back to young mids so
although I might save £384000 over a couple of seasons it will cost more to recruit a new magical coach
2010-04-24 22:22:50
Below are my 2 coaches, both magical and both can be afforded at this time. Dependant on what I train I will swap the coaches between my HC and my YC. Their wages are probably high due to the GK effectiveness but that's how I play and plan ahead.

I used to use 3 assistants too but financially it crippled me. I just leave my 2 coaches to it. I get randoms frequently enough to improve players at the standard I am.
