It'll be an abomination. There's no way it'll be better than the original so why bother.
of course it wont be better than original and it wont win any significant awards but the raw oldschool Daniel-san feeling you get while watching this still kicks ass:p
hopefully...

lol yeah, I really wonder how the goodhearted underdog is going to beat the big evil baddie this time :P
Well, just look at it this way - it can't possibly be worse than The Next Karate Kid.
Oh but it can, it can be a lot worse. This one has Will fecking Smiths kid in it, not a quality actress like Hillary Swank.
Also, Jackie Chan isn't good enough to lick Pat Morita's sandals with his tongue.

Please tell me it doesn't have him in it. He completely ruined another movie, The Pursuit of Happyness, for me...

I agree. Watched it when it came out and was completely surprised. Great movie. Great actors as well (was really impressed by Farrell).
Precious
Good film but pretty brutal and unpleasant. Worth watching.

Gonna watch it soon as a preperation to the Oscars.
Not exactly a feel-good movie I've heard ;)
Watched "Legion" a couple of days ago. Some good actors in it (Bettany, Quaid), but the movie was absolutely awful. Cool idea, but terrible execution.
Btw. I've seen all but one of the animated movies nominated for an Oscar and I think I have to say that "Up" is the best one. Hats off for "Coraline" and "The Fantastic Mr Fox" who were both great (always nice to see great stop-motion films) but Pixar again hit the jackpot with "Up". Has Pixar ever lost at the Academy Awards?
"The Princess and the Frog" was a bit of a disappointment. It's very typicaly Disney, but it doesn't quite reach the level of some of Disneys other movies. It's good, but not great.
Haven't seen "The Secret of Kells" yet, but will as soon as possible. I guess it's better than "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs" anyway. That one was a suprise for me since it was better than I had expected, but it didn't really feel like an Oscar nominee. Also, I have heard good things about "The Secret of Kells" so I hope it's a great one.
One movie that I hoped would be nominated but wasn't is "Mary and Max". It's a great animated movie and I would actually have to say that it might even be better than "Up". Also, it there was an award for best voice acting in an animated feature then it would go to Philip Seymour Hoffman who was excellent in "Mary and Max".
