Def line can be stretched and wing tactics have an advantage there. Tactics bascally
I had a talent 4,5 with lvl 9 coach in the beggining under old junior school... maybe that can guide you a little
Given that playmaking helps defenders and midfielders make quick choices for getting rid of the ball, is it possible it could also affect how quickly strikers shoot?
Playmaking is the most OP skill of them all, and highly underrated by the devs!
yeeaah broo.. my strike took 3 delivery days to make shoot from good position :"DD

That doesn't make much sense, if it's overpowered, then it's overrated by the devs, possibly underrated by the users

No...underrated by the devs! They have no clue about the power of PM on other positions! They honestly believe it is a skill that only benefits midfielders. That is why they made it a midfielder order exclusive skill.
If something is limited then it’s more exclusive, how does it make it underrated?
Do you think that goalkeeper, defender, striker are underrated because only one formation can train it?
Do you think that devs think that only defenders use defending and midfielders/strikers don’t need it…? Or that defenders don’t need playmaking…?
That’s obviously not true, everyone knows these things, so why create such a weird theory

It's not a weird theory...they said it themselves. Playmaking is a midfielder skill and passing is for all positiins. That's why they made passing trainable for all positions and PM only for mids. I'm nottalking about what every older manager already knows, I'm talking about the extreme lack of experience on the game itself, from the devs. I've explained them multuple times that PM is NOT a midfielder exclusive but a supporting skill, yet they still ignored it and declare that it's passing that is supportive. They understand nothing from the current ME.
Doesn't seem to jive with the fact that player match scores are grossly influenced by secondaries like this and passing.
PM is a midfield only skill because it has to be. Otherwise, what skill would be the equivalent of defense and striker?
A better argument would be to suggest that position locked training should end.

Again…
Is defender only a DEF skill?
No, midfielders totally need it, strikers also need it
It’s still only trainable with DEF order
Do you think that devs don’t know that midfielders need defender skill?

But extra def doesn't ad up in the playlevel of your player, in which PM does. My striker ( unearthly pace, incredible tech, magical striker) with outstanding PM plays way better than my average PM striker with almost triple unearthly skills. He also has bigger ratings.
So DEF is in fact a sideskill, like technique and passing. PM is a skill that improves all other skills
@Islander...passing is the mid skill in this ME. PM is not!
Do you guys realise that a midfielder with divine defender, divine pace and divine playmaking has only slightly more ratings than a player with divine pace and PM with excellent defender, playing with MID order.
But the same player, playing with DEF order has almost double ratings if he also has divine PM in stead of excellent...

you know it's funny. I have a 24 year old striker that has been forced to start before he's ready, and he has outstanding playmaking. He still scores goals in ML against superior defenses and goalkeepers. He's in the top 10 goal scorers. It's crazy.
But extra def doesn't ad up in the playlevel of your player, in which PM does.
are you saying that defender skill doesn't increase the performance of a midfielder or a striker? because I saw strikers with divine defender skills and it did make a difference :-)
My striker ( unearthly pace, incredible tech, magical striker) with outstanding PM plays way better than my average PM striker with almost triple unearthly skills
you play in a low level league
I had players without technique (or pm) also scoring when they were young... proves nothing...
even this season I have a 18-16-16 striker and a 17-14-13 striker. Second one has 2x more shots and 2x more goals, but that's mostly due to opponents/tactic/form/position on field
it also happens often that on a small sample a worse player "seems better", I had seasons where a superdivine striker had much worse shot conversion rate than a brilliant or magical striker. does that prove that there's no point in having a superdivine striker because brilliant is enough? not really
pm doesn't "improve all skills", it just makes the player react faster/make better decisions (but not always)
but it's not necessarily always a good thing in all situations because strikers with high pm [and I had 3x superdivine ATT with magical pm&pass so I know what I'm talking about...] often make TERRIBLE decisions and instead of shooting when 1 on 1 they decide to make a back pass or pass to winger or a bad cross
most of all, I would not make any conclusions about the nature of this game based on your games in a league that has average ratings under 60. my current league is terrible as well and if I would draw conclusions based on how my team plays, those conclusions would be terrible and would not transmit to higher level.
for example, if your opponent has defenders with formidable defender level, it doesn't matter whether your striker has incredible or superdivine technique - they will both still dribble those defenders in most situations

Is it possible to manipulate form by buying Tragic form players and essentially letting them take the hit? If the game engine trends form towards the middle range, having a group to drag form down would allow others to raise.
