That one really sucks.. every time.

Yes, it's like adaca said.
Skill drops are not steady it's random. It is exactly like you wrote:
Meaning they can drop f.e. 50 points per Thursday or they can drop 7 points? The greater the age the more points they drop on average?
It's also separate for every skill which means you can have one skill droping by two and another unchanged.

"That is because drops happen on Thursday just after the training update"

So there's no use in training a superdivine skill then, only the week(s) after a drop

It never had been.

Only use will be when they implement extra skill as announced in devdiary68

my 30y old striker dropped from 18 to 17 in striking, went back on 18 the week after, although he doesn´t recieve the advanced training

It's completely random.

I have a 40yo who still has formidable pace.

He dropped to formidable 43 [!] weeks ago.
Before he dropped to outstanding 5 weeks earlier.

So: incredibile ---> outstanding ---5 weeks---> formidable ---> still formidable after 43 weeks

during those 43 weeks of "not dropping in pace" he dropped 5 times in defender - including 2 drops in 3 weeks

technique dropped once, playmaker dropped once, passing dropped once, striker dropped 4 times

oh, he also had unearthly playmaker 82 weeks ago [when I bought him]
he still has magical playmaker

Its not completely random, but the chances of drops are relatively low with big drops when it happens, which can lead to extreme cases. If the drops were smaller (partial levels) but with higher chance of happening, the randomness would be less..... But its like with junior schools, there is too little middleway, and too little consideration of chance according to what already happened. Leading to lucky and unlucky situations.

The 16-16 def i mentioned who didnt drop from age 30 until age 35, also had very few secondaries drops, so he was useful long time for my rather new team back then, but other players didnt even last from 30 to 33 before the drops was too big.

I bough 33y with 16 passing, he had rpp to 17lvl and stayed there for 3weeks already. pace will drop for sure as soon as possible but other skills are very unpredictable. Sometimes no drop for a whole season and sometimes even 3 drops at the age of 33

Probably is so - more skillpoints needed for level up, more skillpoints needed for a down too.
Lower skill, drops faster whole level (less skillpoints).
And superdivine is max, and when go down 0.01 point is divine already....

The drop system in this game is as stupid as the form issue!
And that's about all there is to say about it. And it will never change, probably, either...
2023-08-10 18:29:25
Nah, form is 100% stupid, drop system only is like 30-40% stupid and just needs tweaking

Drops shouldn't be random at all! They too should be lineair. And as far as I'm concerned, as long as you keep training a player on a skill, it shouldn't be possible for that skill to drop...EVER!
As for playmaking...it's not logical at all that that skill drops down, unless Amnesia or Alzheimer is introduced within the game...

I get that this is a game, but the ratio between, being a game and try to simulate real life, is also so badly distributed within the game.
2023-08-10 19:00:25
Then how would you simulate cases where a player like Ozil or Hazard is already going fast downhill at 28-30 but players like Ibrahimovic or Del Piero was playing at a very high level even after their 35...... i dont think you will understand this: But if you make the drops smaller, but the probability higher, it would fluctate less..... or as you call it, be less random (more linear like)

2023-08-10 19:09:11
Do you really think their ''drops'' were random?
Ozil and Hazard are lazy types. Off course they dropped down faster! But I guess you don't understand that...

Also...I never said anything about making drops ''smaller''. But the random should be removed. Drops should be lineair! not random.
I never knew any player playing and training every week, and then suddenly he becomes less good, out of the blue.
Because of injuries, yes. Because of less matches, yes.
Because of random? Noooo!
2023-08-10 19:24:39
As i said, you wouldnt understand. I didnt say make drops smaller. I said make drops smaller + probability higher. This will give you what you are asking for (a somewhat linear function). But never mind.

Im off from forum for some time again, you kill my mood for debating, because you have to have right, even when you have no clue what you are talking about and what the other one is saying. Maybe borkos have patience to try teach you some math again, mine is done.
