You have to install some kind of Java JRE. I think there should be even one pre-installed in Ubuntu (typically OpenJDK).
Then you only need to launch it with something like "java -jar sokkerviewer/launcher.jar".

Great one ;)
Working fine. It had to be
soviet@soviet-HP-ProBook-4320s:~/DATA/Software/LINUX/sokker$ java -jar Launcher.jar
One more thanks ;)

Im sure Im missing something or doing something wrong..
I try to run SV in my Macbook (version 10.6.8).
I have Java SE 6.
I go to Applications - Utilities - Java Preferences and I can see I have Java SE 6, 64bits as my option.
I go to Applications - Utilities - Terminal and run "java -version" to get this:
java version "1.6.0_22"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_22-b04-307-10M3261)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.1-b03-307, mixed mode)
But when I try to run the SV program I get a note that says:
The Java JAR file "Launcher.jar" could not be launched.
Check the Console for possible error messages
