I saw that post you mentioned above, I did not think it is the one you mean and the one it fixes my problem. However it did, I don't understand how this works, but I really appriciete your help guys, so thank you for that! I am very greatful, because I really like this tool.

One more question. How can I recover my old data. It minght seems obvious but I rather ask you: is it okey if I copy the folders from the old SV mapp to the new one?

copy directories xml/ and db/ from old SV to the new one assuming You didnt change Your login (if You did, You might need to copy files from directory xml/{your-login} and properly change names of copied files between db/ directories)

Unfortunately it did not recover my old data :(

You might try doing it once again

1. unzip new SV
2. run new SV and do update
3. Choose File -> Import XML files -> SokkerViewer- > Next and select EVERY directory (sequentially, one after another) from Your old SV like old-SV/xml/your-login...
e.g. in my case they look like this

and You need select every single one of them, one after another; although, You probably have only one
Every directory should do some update of your SV history

Awsome, that is great help from you Brother, I really appreciete it.

Should I copy db folder to the new one too? Or would it ruin everything?
2023-01-11 11:07:54
No idea, but I wouldn't, it might ruin everything

Thanks Brother

"post auto backup failed"
above error is caused by bad (in this case old) path in sokker.properties file in settings folder (inside SV folder).

if you correct (update) the paths on lines starting with 'sk.dir' and 'backup.dir' it should work (does for me).

it would let you run your old files.

note that if you ever move SV again you'd have to correct them again

note that if you ever move SV again you'd have to correct them again

that isn't exactly true

it is if we are talking about old, original SV

the SV from my links has preset relative path to the empty, created specially for that occasion, bak/ directory within it and there is no post-autobackup failed error there if one will not change the path in configuration and, due to the fact of being relative path, it should always work no matter where one will move his/her SV
2023-01-13 01:19:57
that sounds nice
I do use the old, original SV so it would fit

you can use relative paths there?
I need to look it up because that could save me some config file fiddling from time to time
2023-01-13 10:00:53
Just start with dot
Iirc i created empty bak/ directory, changed property value to ./bak, zipped and uploaded

thanks. It doesn't bother me that much so no changes for now.
I 'll keep that in mind though.

Works for me. Check your java JRE settings.

Works for me. Check your java JRE settings.

Got the latest one?

Error found. The login has been changed, don't know why? Consciously I didn't do it either?
