Thema: Stadium Build Ratios?

2007-12-05 09:06:21
It is also dependant on few other factors such as fan base, fan mood and weather.

The A-League and I will publish it later this week only fill on average their stadium at 80% of their total capacity so far this season, I mean your are the only exception since your stadium is too small.

In my opinion you need to look at the bigger picture, I agree with what you are saying but you need to consider the 7 other teams of your league in term of what they bring to you during your home game. Your stadium needs to be design around your league taking into account all parameters.

once I get an accurate predicting attendance model we'll be able to take this a step further if you want...

The rules say that the spectators are likely to buy a more expensive ticket. Noone (except the devs) know the figures, but I wouldn't use the word likely if the percentage was only 51 % or even 59 %. "Likely" imo would require at least 2/3 or better still 3/4. Likely is a very strong word. Maybe someone who knows the polish original can tell if the same apply in the polish rules?

for me stadium should be nice!
i will check polish rules, and find out what is written there.

Right I've sussed out how stadium building costs work, this might be a long post...

1/ Building from scratch
Building from scratch is when you start with a 100 standing section of your stadium, they are 8 sections around your stadium, 2 along the lines and 6 behind the goals.
Whichever section you choose the cost involved will be the same, meaning building along the line is not more expensive than behind the goal or vice-versa.
Everytime you undertake any change to your stadium a standard project fee of 25 000 $ will apply.

1a/ from standing to terracces
building terraces from a standing section is the only process that is not proportional in stadium building:
500 terraces will cost 26 $ per unit (1 terrace), 1000 terraces will cost 27 $ per unit, 1500 terraces will cost 27 $ per unit and so on... 500 terraces cost a total of 12 813 $, 1000 terraces cost a total of 26 250 $. Add on top of this your project fee and you have your total expansion cost.
1b/ from standing to benches
It's a fairly straightforward calculation: project fee + terrace expansion cost + fastening + benches = cost;
fastening= 25 $ per unit
bench= 13 $ per unit
Say you want to add 2000 benches, your terrace expansion cost will be 2000*28 $.
fastening cost will be 2000*25 $
benches cost will be 2000*13 $
adding the project the grand total will be 155 000 $
1c/ from standing to seats
the only difference here is the price of the seat, seats are 45 $. the rest costs the same as in 1b and the calculation is exactly the same.

2/ Modifying a stand
Things get a little bit spicy for this one but it's a fairly straightforward process once you understand that the terrace is the base of any of your stands.
As seen previously a terrace needs to be built in order to install benches or seats. Any cost in increasing your current stand will first generate a terrace expansion cost.
say you go from 1000 terraces to 2000 benches.
total cost = project fee + terrace expansion + fastening + benches
well, 2000 benches = 2000*13 $; 2000 fastenings = 2000*25 $ and the project fee is still 25 000 $.
now let's look at the terrace expansion fee... you have already 1000 terrace to start with and you want to add another 1000 to get to 2000. The cost of this is the difference between the cost of building 2000 terraces from scratch (see 1a) minus the cost of building 1000 terraces from scratch. In numbers...
1000 terraces = 1000*27 $;
2000 terraces = 2000*28 $;
so the terrace expansion cost is 55 000 $ - 28 750 $ = 26 250 $.

Now adding a bit more spice
When you modify a stand from benches to seats or the opposite a dismantling fee apply and it is the same for a bench or a seat, it is 3 $ per unit. You'll have to add this fee to the project fee + terrace expansion cost + fastening cost + seat or bench cost to get your total cost

One more option is available, it is the roof. Wherever you had a roof a fee of 100 $ per seat or bench apply. Only adding the roof to an exsiting stand would cost: project fee + (stand capacity*100 $)

ok now you put all this in an excel spreadsheet and you can simulate everything once for all!
hope this help...

this is very peculiar:

in my case the standard project fees are only 25 000 $. maybe its because austria has to many architetcts?
2007-12-05 12:11:43
also there 6 sections behing the goal and just two along the lines!

building terraces from a standing section is the only process that is not proportional in stadium building: - not true either. seats are getting more expensive too.

all in all, there is plenty of missinfos!!!
2007-12-05 12:11:56
corrected :)
2007-12-05 12:16:19
well it's 6 along the lines and 2 behind the goal, you can check this calculating your ticket income!

seat dont get more expensive nor benches only terraces... you can simulate you'll find the same as me...
2007-12-05 12:17:12
There are 6 seats behind the goal and only 2 along the sides!
2007-12-05 12:18:48
no its the terraces, which are getting more expansive - but you have to build them first, when you expand your seats.
2007-12-05 12:27:28
@ Gluck: you're right!

@ Naughty: well I cant see it in the rules, how do we check cause I'm happy correcting this... it would only affect a covered stadium when calculating a ticket income (no difference on a non-covered stadium). no change on building costs.

@all
there's something happening with the [ money=x] fonction 500 terraces cost 41$, 1000 terraces costs 42$, 1500 terraces costs 43$... it increment by 1$ each 500 terraces in austrlia, I'm not sure why the function change my figures...
2007-12-05 12:28:47
so anything is getting more expensive;-)
2007-12-05 12:31:31
I can confirm that there is 6 stands behind goal and 2 along the line as I have all my stadium figures in a spreadsheet.
2007-12-05 12:32:00
It's true, it can only be seen when calculating income on covered benches and seats but it's a known fact that the corners are behind the gate!
2007-12-05 12:37:32
thank you, I actually needed someone with a roof(s) to confirm this (only 2 in oz, one is a BOT!)... you got plenty of them :)
2007-12-05 12:47:06
Why did you need someone with a roof? Do you expect people to not believe you now if you tell them?
